Summary
The Library Renovation and Expansion consists of the renovation of the existing 18,468 gross foot facility. Approximately 3200 square feet of the existing building will be demolished and a new 11,400 square foot addition will be constructed. In addition to the remaining 15,228 square feet that will be renovated, the new library will occupy a 26,628 gross square foot facility.
In addition to the base bid work, several add alternates were also selected by Allegany College of Maryland, which included special casework, wiring the facility with CAT 6 cable, provide wireless service to the plaza area fronting the library, and provide geo-thermal mechanical systems in lieu of the conventional mechanical system included in the base bid.
